Little Diaper School
TO BUY
Choose the right size diaper cover and diaper according to how much your child weighs. You need 24 cloth diapers and 3-5 diaper covers for daily use. Try to choose different diaper covers and try out which one suits your child best. You save lots of money!
TO USE 2-PART SYSTEM
Place a diaper into the diaper cover. Be sure that the diaper sits inside the diaper cover. Extra terry cloth and flannel is used during the night or if the baby pees a lot. Adjust the Velcro strap for a comfortable fit.
WHAT DIAPERS DO I CHOOSE?
- Contour Flannel Diaper
- Diaper in flannel, which is located next to the skin inside the diaper cover. This diaper is changed at each diaper change.
- Contour Terry Diaper
- Same as above, but in the terry. Higher absorbency than flannel, and can therefore be used as a night nappy.
- Muslin Squares
- Flat square diapers that you fold. Use as diapers or inserts.
- Diaper Cover
- The outer pants are held outside of the diaper and protects your clothes. Diaper cover need only be replaced when it becomes dirty or wet.
- Terry Inserts
- Insert in cotton terry used as additional extraction-ability when the child started to pee more. Changed at each diaper change. Terry has high absorbency.
- Bio Liners
- Placed on top of the diaper or the insert to make it easier when changing poopy diapers. Are biodegradable / compostable.
- Stay-dry Liners
- Inserts that acts like a waterproof barrier, keeping your baby's skin dry, e.g. at night time or if your baby has diaper rash.
TO USE ALL-IN-ONE DIAPER
Choose between stay-dry micro fleece or certified organic cotton next to babies skin. Adjust the hook and loop fasteners for a comfortable fit
WASH YOUR DIAPERS IN THE RIGHT WAY
- Diaper changing
- When a diaper is used, rinse it with cold water and wring it out properly. Add the half wet diapers in a bucket. You do not need to add water or anything else in the bucket, diapers can be up to 3 days.
- Washing
- The diapers and diaper covers are usually washed at 60 °C in Zeolite free detergent. In order to get extra clean diapers, wash at 90°C. Close the Velcro on the covers. Don´t open in wet condition, it will wear out the Velcro.
- Washing the Wool Diaper Cover
- Machine washable but we recommend hand washing with mild soap or wool detergent. After washing squeeze the covers in a towel to save drying time. Treat with wool cure once or twice a month. Things to consider: Pee is highly corrosive to the wool fiber and it´s therefore important not to allow the cover to be wet for too long.
- Drying
- Hang dry. You can also tumble dry on low heat, but it wears the fabric.
- Fabric softener
- Do not use fabric softener because it leaves a coating on the fabric that prevents the diapers from absorbing.
- Bleach
- Avoid using bleach on diaper covers. However, when required, you can use bleach on cloth diapers.
- New diapers
- Always laundered new cloth diapers before use, it increases the absorption capacity. Diaper covers can however be used directly without washing.
